Alexandria Eye Clinic joins Vance Thompson Vision

Alexandria Eye Clinic, a fixture on the Alexandria business scene for decades, has become part of Vance Thompson Vision clinics. The move became effective Monday, Sept. 3.

"It's a win-win for our patients; a local team of professionals supported by a nationally recognized surgical and patient experience program," said Dr. Debby Ristvedt, ophthalmologist at Alexandria Eye Clinic.

She said the partnership allows the clinic, which has a 43-year history in Alexandria, to focus on providing the latest technology and surgical treatments for cataract, minimally-invasive laucoma treatments and advanced corneal surgery.

Ristvedt added that work is underway on a state-of-the-art surgery center, with plans to open in late 2019.

Vance Thompson Vision has locations in four other states: Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Fargo, North Dakota; Bozeman, Montana; and Omaha, Nebraska.

His current space is about 80 feet by 120 feet. The company looks to add new products for winter and spring, such as a power sweeper for snow removal. With another location in Elbow Lake, Roquette said his company employs about 33. It is leasing its building from GCI.

Bell among best banks to work for

Bell Bank has moved up American Banker magazine's list of the nation's "Best Banks to Work For." Among thousands of banks nationwide, Bell Bank was named the third best banking workplace overall. This is the sixth year in a row Bell has been on the American Banker list and the highest ranking Bell has achieved.

The magazine featured Bell's "How Bell of You" program, which recognizes employees for actions that demonstrate its core values of family atmosphere, unequaled personal service and giving back to the community.

Largely based on employee surveys, the magazine evaluates the bank's culture, policies, pay and benefits, and employee engagement and motivation.

Headquartered in Fargo, Bell Bank has a location in Alexandria.
