The weather held out for the annual Forada Days parade Saturday with the sun peeking out from time to time after the parade was done and the other activities, such as bingo, kid’s games and more, were just starting.

There is more fun to be had in Forada the rest of today, Saturday, Aug. 4, as well as tomorrow, Sunday, Aug. 5.

Here’s a look at the rest of the weekend’s activities:

Saturday, Aug. 4

  • Clueless the Balloon Twister – goes until 4 p.m.
  • Face painting by The Hannah’s – goes until 4 p.m.
  • Pig Races – goes until 4:30 p.m.
  • Lion’s raffle – 5 p.m.
  • Dan Lee Hypnosis – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Street dance featuring Dana and the Bottle Rockets followed by I Witness – 7:30 p.m. to midnight
  • Fireworks at dusk sponsored by The Muddy Boot

Sunday, Aug. 5

  • Forada First Responder breakfast – 8 a.m. to noon
Celeste Edenloff

Celeste is a reporter for the Alexandria Echo Press and has lived in the Alexandria Lakes Area since 1997. She first worked for the Echo Press as a reporter from 1999 to 2011, and returned in June 2016 to report on the community she calls home. Besides writing articles for the Echo Press, she has a blog, “Newspaper Girl on the Run.” Celeste is on a continuous healthy living journey and loves to teach bootcamp fitness classes and run. She has participated in nearly 200 races with her husband, Al, covering the 5K, 10K, 10-mile and half-marathon (13.1 mile) distances.
