Woman injured in rollover near Lake Christina

A 22-year-old woman from Flandreau, South Dakota was injured in a one vehicle rollover near Lake Christina in Douglas County Sunday morning.

Taylor Noel Peters was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 west on Highway 78 in Lund Township when the vehicle's right tires went off the roadway onto the soft gravel shoulder while she was following a curve in the road, according to the State Patrol.

Peters overcorrected and entered the south ditch. The Chrysler rolled and came to a rest on the shore of Lake Christina, according to the accident report.

Peters, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Alomere Health in Alexandria by Ashby Ambulance. She was treated and released.

The crash happened at about 9:25 a.m.
