Boys cross country: Knights win again, Alexandria fourth in Fergus

The West Central Area boys cross country team continues to run past the pack in meets as the Knights won again, this time at the John Hermes Invite in Fergus Falls against a field that included many bigger programs.

Alexandria was one of those as the Cardinals finished in fourth place with 73 points. Noah Struck led the charge in 11th place overall in a time of 17:40.1. Jacob Kleven was 13th (17:55.1), Jack Englund was 14th (17:55.9), Dane Galloway 15th (17:57.8) and Brian Denke 20th (18:25.6) to round out the scoring.

Andrew Sparr finished off the varsity lineup in 49th place and a time of 19:59.2. The whole Alexandria program had 10 boys finish with season-best times between all the races.

West Central Area finished with 56 points, led by a third-place finish from Jacob Bright in 17:01.8. It was part of four top-10 finishes for the Knights.

Kade Runge was seventh in a time of 17:30.8. Kyle Schill (ninth, 17:32) and Jack Van Kempen (ninth, 17:35.3) were right behind Runge, and Alex Salwasser rounded out the WCA scoring in 29th place (18:54.6). Reubens Swanson (36th, 19:08.5) and Bennet Grove (41st, 19:27.5) finished off the lineup for the Knights.
