Volleyball: Knights see a 2-0 lead disappear against Frazee

The West Central Area volleyball team lost a five-setter to Frazee on Monday night.

The Hornets (5-15) won the final three sets, 25-18, 25-16 and 15-9, to erase what had been a 2-0 deficit after the Knights (8-12) took the first two sets by the same score of 25-18.

“The Knights came out strong and played consistent volleyball in sets one and two,” WCA head coach Amy Linn said. “We lost our focus in the last three sets, which resulted in a loss for us tonight.”

Morgan Woodle led WCA with 17 kills, an ace, 19 digs and one block. Ellie Herman had 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks. Kaleigh Anderson chipped in seven kills, two aces and 16 digs and Kaitlyn Sanstead had a team-high 39 digs to go with one ace and a 2.4 serve receive.

The Knights will try to regroup when they welcome in Hancock (1-16) tonight, Tuesday, at 7:30.
